Über Jahre war das Ansehens der Koreaner und ihrer Kultur in Asien schlecht. In Japan wird öffenrtlich über das Land der Morgenstille hergezogen. In japanischen Schulbüchern wird die Geschichte Koreas noch immer verfälscht. In China hat sich das Bild Koreas stark gewandelt. Der Chosunilbo berichtet über eine Studie, bei der 800 Einwohner Beijings über Korea befragt wurden.
“Following a boom in exports of Korean culture across Asia, a recent study has found that Chinese people view Koreans in a more positive light than they do the United States, Japan and Taiwan [...] Overall, Korea ranked as the most favorably-perceived state by the Chinese in the poll.
